Whole Wheat Waffles with Kiwi, Strawberries, and Mango

Servings 4


  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 3/4 cup low-fat buttermilk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 2 kiwis
  • 1 champagne mango
  • maple syrup


  1. Preheat the waffle maker. I used setting 4. 

  2. Whisk the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt together in a large bowl. 

  3. Stir together the remaining ingredients in a medium bowl until combined. 

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until combined. 

  5. I have a smaller waffle maker, so I used a small cookie scoop and place a small scoop of batter in each quadrant, this worked perfectly! 

  6. Slice the strawberries, kiwis, and mangoes. 

  7. Serve with the fruit on top and maple syrup. 

Recipe Notes

Can use 2 cups of whole wheat flour as well.
