Where has halloumi been all my life (and my sisters). I feel like one day I had never heard of it and the next day it was everywhere! It’s on all the menus at my favorite restaurants and now they even care it at Trader Joes!
So once I found it at Trader Joes, I knew I had to create my own recipe. One of my new favorite restaurants in DC is Sababa and it has an absolutely delicious charred lemon halloumi with dates dish on the menu. This recipe with the charred lemon basil cilantro sauce is my take!
