Winter fruits do not get enough credit! Berries and stone fruits are great, but persimmon, pomegranate, and pairs are pretty perfect! Fruit is much needed during the winter to add some freshness to hearty soups and stews.
Persimmons make for a great salsa as they have a similar texture to tomatoes.
I currently love adding fruits salsa to nachos, highly suggest it!

Persimmon Winter Fruit Salsa
winter fruit is the star of this salsa, perfect for lightening up heavy winter dishes.
Ingredients
- 2 persimmons
- 1 pear
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
- 1/4 cup cilantro
- 3 tbsp red onion
- 1 lime
Instructions

Chop the persimmons, pear, and avocado into small uniform size pieces.

Deseed the pomegranate

Finely chop the cilantro and red onion.

Add the first six ingredients into a bowl.

Squeeze both halves of the lime.

Mix the ingredients together until well incorporated.
